Ahmadiyya Prophecies
Regarding The Imminent Hour


Purpose

What has prompted this essay is a desire to cooperate with the Ahmadi Community to prepare for the imminent Great Catastrophe.

On March 19, 2016, at the Baitul Futuh Mosque in London, His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V, (May Allah always provide Him with guidance),

"warned the world stood on the brink of a catastrophic global war
in which nuclear weapons could be utilised to devastating effect."

The Ahmadi Community has not only the benefit of guidance from this illustrious Caliph, but they also have the benefit of many specific and direct prophecies by Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), concerning "the three signs" in connection with The Great Catastrophe that is about to overtake humanity.


The Promised Messiah,

Most all men of insight can see that the world situation is deteriorating and that the possibility of world nuclear war is increasing. What they fail to recognize is - "The Reason Why", which is because humanity has turned away from God.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) has said:

"God Almighty warns that
His wrath is about to descend upon the earth,
for the earth is filled with sin and vice."

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

" My wrath has been kindled upon the earth because the dwellers of the earth have turned away from Me."

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"Seeing that worldly government disapproves of and deals severely with disobedience, then you can imagine, how terrible God's anger will be. Repent, therefore, for the days are near."

It is human social and spiritual depravity that has brought about the present situation - and it would just continue to get worse and worse (if that seems possible) unless the Creator corrects it. Nuclear war will be the self-induced and permitted chastisement and correction, while the Earthquake that is symbolic of "The Hour" and "The Judgment Day" will end the nuclear holocaust.


The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) has said:

"Were God not to do this,
 (permit the chastisement -
that is symbolic of "The Hour",
"The Judgment Day")
the world would be confounded."

By confounded is meant that humanity would not attain the purpose for which it was created.

The Hour

"The Hour" (al-sa'ah) - - is also known as
"The Day of Judgment",
"The Day of Reckoning", and
"The Last Day".

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"An hour is coming which will be reminiscent of the Judgment Day."

The Prophet (Muhammad) (Peace be upon Him) said,

"The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until

    (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men),

    earthquakes will be very frequent,

    time will pass quickly,

    afflictions will appear,

    murders will increase and

    money will overflow amongst you."

Which of the following do you think are not happening today?

      1. True Religion will die

      2. Earthquakes will become frequent

        If you think there have been more earthquakes
        than usual this year, you're right.
        A new study finds there were more than twice as many big earthquakes
        in the first quarter of 2014 (the last period of official statistics)
        as compared with the average since 1979.
        We hear of more continuously.

      3. Time will pass quickly

        Events now happen with a rapidity unimaginable centuries,
        or even decades, ago.

      4. Afflictions will appear

        Humanity is experiencing wars, refugees, AIDS, Ebola, Spiritual Degradation in music and morals, increased conflict between the races, and many other increased afflictions.

      5. Murders will increase

        There has never been before so much Terrorist activity, and the atrocities of beheadings, crucifixions and so forth have never before been so much "in your face" to the whole world.

      6. Money will overflow

        There has never been so much concentration of wealth, countefeiting has never been so broad, financial instruments such as derivatives have never before been so extreme.

    Meaning of "The Hour" and "The Last Day"

    Whatever theological meaning one may give to "The Hour" and "The Last Day" the prophecies being cited here only say that the prophecized events are SYMBOLIC of that time. That is to say, the events will be so horrendous that they will symbolize what is expected at "The Hour" and "The Last Day".

    BUT- these events, as terrible as they may be, are NOT the end of the world. They are the end of "An Age", and mark the beginning of a new age of the "Fulifillment of God's Promise." They are the UNIQUE event described in the prophecies below of Daniel, Matthew, Mark and by the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him).

    The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) has said:

    "Then arise and be warned that the end is near as had been foretold by the previous prophets."


    The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"I shall come to you suddenly with My hosts, that is, you do not have the knowledge of the hour when you will be helped. The day will come when the wrongdoer will bite his hands in remorse and will say: 'Fie on me; I wish I had not opposed this Messenger of God and had stayed with him.'"

Three Signs

There are THREE SIGNS given by The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) that "The Hour" is imminent.

Actually, there are many signs -

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) has said:

"Remember also that these Signs are not all but that many others will follow one after the other till man takes note of them and inquires in surprise: What is happening? Each coming day will be harder and worse than the one before."

Nevertheless, we focus on these three signs/prophecies - because:

      1. They are UNIQUE and therefore easily recognizable. Happening only one time each in all of history.

      2. They were given by many Prophets besides The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) long before they occured.

      3. They were IMPOSSIBLE to understand at the time the prophecies were given.

      4. Modern day science has now made them comprehendable at the time they are to occur.

Because the prophecies were incomprehensible at the time they were given, the people living then and in the intervening centuries gave imaginative explanations for them. Amazingly, although today we see how merely imaginative those explanations were, since scientific explanations now exist, there are still people who believe literally in those original imaginative explanations.

The Blessed Messiah (Peace be Upon Him), since He lived before science had advanced sufficiently to explain what was being prophecized, often did not know Himself, exactly how or when the fulfillment of the prophecies would take place. In these three cases, it was simply because science had not advanced sufficiently for there be experience with what was being prophetically revealed.


The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"But I am not able to apply the world earthquake with certainty upon its actual manifestation. It is possible that it may not be a common earthquake but some other dire calamity, which would be an example of the Judgment Day, the like of which has not been witnessed before, and which would bring about great destruction of life and property. If no such extraordinary Sign appears, while people have not openly reformed their way of life, I shall in such case have been proved false."

The Three Signs were:

      1. Seemingly impossible Destruction.

      2. "The Sign of the Moon" /
      "The Moon of the Prophets" /
      The "Splitting of the Moon".

      3. The Earthquake of "The Judgment Day",
      that would turn the earth upside down.

We shall deal with THE THREE SIGNS in the order in which they are to appear and in their own separate section.

      1. The first sign, "The capability of destruction" in such a manner that was unimaginable in all the centuries past.

      2. The second sign, "The Sign of the Moon", or "the Moon of the Prophets" was the final warning before the coming Catastrophic Event - which will be "The Last Great Battle of Armageddon."

      3. The third sign, "The Great Earthquake", symbolic of "The Judgment Day", will be the terminal event of "The Last Day" ending "The Last Great Battle of Armageddon".

None of these signs are as people have imagined them in the past, because then they seemed impossible. But now, at the time they are occurring, scientific knowledge has arisen to give obvious and correct understanding. For example, nuclear weapons have given new meaning to Armageddon and the Apocalypse.

Neither "The Hour", "The Last Day", nor "The Day of Judgment" is as such as people have imagined. For many centuries people have considered these in terms of "The End of Time", rather than the "End of an Age", which is then actually the beginning of a new one of fulfillment as promised to The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him).

"The Last Day", is the last day of the old age, not the last day ever. All sorts of concepts such as "resurrection", and "rapture", have been imagined in connection with these events. Whatever people may wish to think about those ideas, what is being presented here are scientifically determined events that are now occurring.

The First Sign
Capability of such Destruction
Such as has never been before
nor will ever be again.

World nuclear war is indeed the unique and ultimate Divine Chastisement, foretold in prophecies for millenia:


Daniel

12:1 ... and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Matthew

24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mark

13:19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Tadhkirah

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"Such destruction will overtake the earth
as has not happened since man was born."

The Earthquake that is symbolic of "The Judgment Day"
is actually God's blessing and is the means of "shortening those days".


Among all the religious communities in the world, the Ahmadis have been particularly blessed in that they have been provided with special prophecies about these events. There is no other source to be found anywhere, with the details about the three signs, as are found in the Ahmadi prophecies. At the time the prophecies were given they seemed impossible because they were beyond the understanding of the "science of the time".


The prophecies about Armageddon and the Apocalypse were incomprehensible for the last many centuries and even at the time of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him).

Because of lack of understanding in the past, pictures were drawn of horse drawn chariots going through the air and great armies on horseback up in the clouds.


Today, we know about aircraft/missiles and the effects of nuclear weapons.

We now know very well how the destruction of a city can take place in a single hour.

Such things were unknown when The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) and the earlier prophets wrote - but while the Three Signs things seemed impossible before, now God has made it possible for man to understand then through science.

The Promised Messiah has said that:

"This is the promise that you wished to be hastened.
I shall safeguard from the earthquake all
those who are in this house (firm in this covenant).
There is an ark and comfort."


Qur'an Surah 44

10. Then watch thou for the Day that the sky will bring forth a kind of smoke (or mist) plainly visible.

11. Enveloping the people: this will be a Penalty Grievous.

12. (They will say:) "Our Lord! remove the Penalty from us for We do really believe!"

13. How shall the Message be (effectual) for them, seeing that a Messenger explaining things clearly has (already) come to them --

14. Yet they turn away from him and say: "Tutored (by others), a man possessed!"

15. We shall indeed remove the Penalty for a while, (but) truly ye will revert (to your ways).

16. One day We shall seize you with a mighty onslaught We will indeed (then) exact Retribution!

All the "signs" given by the Prophets (Peace be upon Them), prophetic, poetic, pictorial, potential, possible for the present day - seemed impossible in the day when they were given and so consequently were subject to wild speculation as to their meaning, interpretations which have often become dogmatic in their expression.

Today, "the splitting of the Moon", "a HAB event Earthquake", "great nuclear Mushroom Clouds of smoke, clearly visible as a grievous penalty", "the wind of fallout that turns their tilth yellow"; all these things with obvious appearance and scientific meaning, that were beyond the comprehension of ages past, and still rejected as signs by the unbelievers in the present day, have been made manifest.



Qur'an Surah 77

28. Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

29. (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false!

30. "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns,

31. "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze.

32. "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts,

33. "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)."

34. Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

35. That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak,

36. Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas.

37. Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth!

38. That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall Gather you together and those before (you)!

Qur'an Surah 30

51. And if We (but) send a Wind from which they see (their tilth) turn yellow, behold, they become, thereafter, ungrateful (Unbelievers)!

52. So verily thou canst not make the dead to hear, nor canst thou make the deaf to hear the call, when they show their backs and turn away.

53. Nor canst thou lead back the blind from their straying: only those wilt thou make to hear, who believe in Our Signs and submit (their wills in Islam).

54. It is Allah Who created you in a state of (helpless) weakness, then gave (you) strength after weakness, then, after strength, give (you) weakness and a hoary head: He creates as He wills, and it is He Who has all knowledge and power.

55. On the Day that the Hour (of reckoning) will be established, the transgressors will swear that they tarried not but an hour: thus were they used to being deluded!

56. But those endued with knowledge and faith will say: "Indeed ye did tarry, within Allah's Decree, to the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection: but ye -- ye were not aware!"

57. So on that Day no excuse of theirs will avail the Transgressors, nor will they be invited (then) to seek grace (by repentance).

Second Sign
Moon of the Prophets

The Second Sign, "the Splitting of the Moon", "The Moon of Prophets" is the final warning before The Great Catastrophe occurs.

Surah 54

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. The hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder.

2. But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic."

3. They reject (the warning) and follow their (own) lusts but every matter has its appointed time.

4. There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them),

5. Mature wisdom -- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not.

6. Therefore, (O Prophet,) turn away from them. The day that the Caller will call (them) to a terrible affair.

7. They will come forth -- their eyes humbled -- from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad,

8. Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller! "Hard is this Day!" the Unbelievers will say.

9. Before them the People of Noah rejected (their messenger): they rejected Our servant, and said, "Here is one possessed!" and he was driven out.

10. Then he called on his Lord: "I am one overcome: do thou then help (me)!"

      The "Moon of the Prophets"/
      "splitting of the Moon"
      is not a settled issue among Muslims.

      The general concept that
      a star would be seen between the two points of the crescent
      seems to be the universal symbol of the Muslim Faith
      displayed in the flags of many Muslim countries.


This ancient symbol of prophecy, long predating Islam and hence called "The Moon of the Prophets", should be universally recognized as the "The Sign of the End".

But no, there seems to be as much opinion about this as the reputed Christian debate of how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. There are reports that the splitting of the moon was witnessed during the time of Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and early traditions supporting this literal interpretation are transmitted on the authority of companions of Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) such as Ibn Abbas, Anas bin Malik, Abdullah bin Masud and others. There is also the supposedly supporting physical evidence of the deep crevice on the moon, but while the crevice exists, it is not so credited by astronomers.

An alternate view held only by Ahmadis, is that the ancient prophecies relate to personal events in the life of the Promised Messiah, (Peace be upon Him). Most particularly that a particular "Moon of the Prophets" during the lifetime of the Promised Messiah, (Peace be upon Him), is associated with the birth of his son Mirza Bashir Ahmad (1893-1963), a great Ahmadi scholar and Author of "Seal of the Prophets" (published July 1920), in which the latter acknowledges that the given prophecy applies to himself, but goes on in his book to explain alternate concepts about "The Splitting of the Moon."

Relavent passages from "The Seal of the Prophets" will be found in Appendix One and details and usage of the phrase "Moon of the Prophets" in this regard, by the Promised Messiah, (Peace be upon Him) in the Tadhkirah, are in Appendix Two.

All of the Promised Messiah's (Peace be upon Him) specific/honorific uses of the title do not detract from the actual historic generic expected prophetic event when it happened, nor from the Promised Messiah's (Peace be upon Him) prophesying the actual historic generic expected prophetic event.

After the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) made the last of His specific/honorific references to the "Moon of the Prophets", He clearly and emphatically stated in 1906, long after the births of ALL His children, that the expected actual specific historical prophetic event, had not yet occurred .

The Promised Messiah said that:

" "The moon of the Prophets will come and your affair will be completed."

To which may be added:

"Tell them: I have with me proof from Allah, then will you believe or not."

Such immense detail has been gone into here, because the association of the phrase "Moon of the Prophets", was a matter that concerneh some Ahmadis, and was therefore a matter that needed to be cleared up, to conform to the traditional Muslim view as evidenced by the Indian Muslim scholar Abdullah Yusuf Ali, who says the moon will split again when the day of judgment approaches.

After presenting the alternative historical alternative arguments, the matter, however, has now become clear as the moon, because of the salient scientific fact that it is a unique event that has just recently occured, and which may be seen here.

How the Moon Was Split
And It's Significance

In 1905 the Blessed Messiah (Peace be upon Him) reported that it had been revealed to Him that the calamity would begin in less than sixteen years. Note and Note Many students of the world situation are of the opinion that Armageddon started on July 28, 1914 and that we are within the century, or 100 year plus time period, leading up to the Great Final Battle of Armageddon, and while no man knows "The Hour", this all falls within the time parameters provided by The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him).

The last century has certainly been the most calamitous ever witnessed by humanity as a whole. It has been one long war, to end wars, and to finalize with a Great Earthquake that symbolizes "The Hour" and Final Judgment, a matter which is absolutely spiritually necessary to turn humanity back from its ever deteriorating path of materiality and immorality and towards the social and religious unity, which it is the Mission of the followers of the Promised Messiahas (Peace be upon Him) to lead humanity towards.

Full understanding of the meaning of "sixteen years" will not be possible until after the calamity has occurred, but then we will know from when the sixteen started counting. Here is an alternate, and compatible explanation of the "Sixteen Years".

is 15 years and 16 days a total of 5,495 days.

The actual observation of "The Moon of the Prophets" was just less than sixteen years from the launch of the ISS (International Space Station) on Nov 20, 1998, which is what made it possible. The first ever (and only known) scientifically documented "Moon of the Prophets' was on Dec 6, 2013, which was 15 years and 16 days after launch.

In the last 1906 reference that we have to the "Moon of the Prophets" in the Tadhzirah, the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) not only clearly and emphatically designates the importance of the sign of the "Moon of the Prophets" as a sign that His affair/mission will be completed and that the "Earthquake of Judgment" will occur, but also describes it as a HAB event in which "the earth will be turned upside down".

This last reference, to the world being "turned upside down" is taken poetically and symbollically by many of the followers of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), but it will literally occur, as has the "Moon of the Prophets", and as will be explained in the HAB Event section.

In both cases Allah causes His ancient prophecies
to be specifically and literally fulfilled
at the designated time.

THIRD SIGN
The Tale of the Earthquake
The Earthquake of Judgment

We are not talking about a regular earthquake here -
no matter how previously large!


The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"That will be the earthquake like the Judgment Day...Were I not forced to disclose all this out of my deep sympathy for my fellow beings I would not have mentioned it."

The Third Sign, The Great Earthquake, symbolic of "The Judgment Day", marks the conclusion of "The Hour."

All these prophecies are now clear and specific - but their meaning was previously incomprensible until new scientific understanding became available.

    1. The prophecies literally mean what they say.

    2. Allah foretold for centuries what seemed impossible, but which has now become understandable.

    3. For those who are willing to open their eyes and see them, these prophecies are a mighty bounty as a final warning from Allah.

"The Tale of the Earthquake", which culminates the endtime period started by "The Splitting of the Moon", is one of the most important prophecies brought by the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), because the HAB event marks the beginning of the fulfillment of His Mission (may Allah be pleased with His folllowers' effort).

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"God, the Majestic and Glorious, has also told me that both these earthquakes are Signs in support of my truth like the Signs which Musaas [Moses] demonstrated before Pharaoh and the Sign which Nuhas [Noah] showed to his people."

      The Timeline

      1. Splitting of the Moon (Last Prophetic Warning before The Great Catastrophe).
      2. The Great Catastrophe (The Hour - The Last Day - The Judgment)
      3. The Great Earthquake, the HAB event, marking the end of The Great Catastrophe.
      4. Beginning of the Promised Messiah's Mission (Peace be upon Him) to unify humanity.

In the Tadhkirah there is first mention of earthquake by the Promised Messiah (may Allah grant Him peace) in 1902', with the last mention being made July 4, 1907. Original sources are given in the Tadhkirah and are often acknowledged here.

Between the above two dates there were many mentionings of earthquake in the Tadhkirah, from which this study abstracted 92, and over seven thousand words, that seemed to hold the potential of being relevant to "The Great Earthquake".

Obviously, as we can see in the appendice of quotes, from throughout the Tadhkirah, "The Great Earthquake" is NOT an ordinary earthquake. It is special both in its nature and purpose, as well as its appearance and timing.

Nevertheless, The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), discusses many other earthquakes, so we shall take note of them here, so that none may think that we have overlooked them.

Categories of Earthquakes in the Tadhkirah

Small Earthquakes

Both in, and in addition to the material selected, there are in the Tadhkirah a great number of general references to earthquakes, both past and expected, most of a relatively small nature. There may be considerable damage of property and even loss of life in these earthquakes, but they are insignificant compared to "The Great Earthquake".

Five Great Quakes

In the Tadhkirah there is spoken of a series of quakes referenced as "The Five Great Quakes". These are variously identified but they are definitely not "The Great Earthquake" itself, and the five were specifically related to the time and locale of the revelation.

Subsequent Great Quakes in the World

Between 1907 and 2012 there were 15 earthquakes of 8.5 or higher on the Richter Scale - none of which qualify as the prophesized "Great Earthquake". They do appear in increasing frequency and intensity, even as they continue now, which is symptomatic of the approach of "The Great Earthquake", associated with the "Example of the Judgment Day", a term subject to various interpretations and levels of understanding.

The "Great Earthquake", the "Earthquake that represents "The Day of Judgment", is a unique event in its "terribleness". We can see now that that there will be a Nuclear World War, something that was totally incomprehensible to those who read the Bible and Qur'an down through the preceding centuries. The prophecies clearly state that unless the days are shortened, none would survive them.

The Bible describes what is a HAB event that which will "shorten the days":

Revelation
16:18 ...and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.



This is the HAB event, as described by The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him). A HAB event is something that was beyond the comprehension of those to whom the prophecy was given. Science had not yet determined its possibilty, so the Ahmadis, according to Wikipedia, gave to it alternative explanations.

"The date this day is 15 April 1905. and In the Divine revelation the word Zalzalah (meaning a quaking or earthquake), is repeated again and again. - But I cannot yet with certainty take the word in its literal significance. In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. When the Earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,

2. And the Earth throws up her burden (from within),

3. And man cries (distressed): 'What is the matter with her?' --

4. On that Day will she declare her tidings:

5. For that thy Lord will have given her inspiration.

6. On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the Deeds that they (had done).

7. Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

" Show me the earthquake of the hour of Judgment. "

"The Earthquake of Judgment" - that is symbolic of -The Judgment Day- prophecized by the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), is termed a HAB event (as explained now), and is one of the Three Great Signs, the First Sign being the capablity for The GREAT Destruction, the Second Sign being the splitting of the Moon, which is to warn of the imminence of -The GREAT Destruction, and the Third, The Great Earthquake- marking the fulfillment and completion of "The Hour".

Explanation of the HAB Event

In 1976, the American author Allan W. Eckert, wrote about a scientific theory that he called The Hab Theory. The theory was SO FAR OUT that he had to present it as an entertaining science fiction novel. However, he documented it throughout with footnotes, just as if it were a scientific dissertation.

A trip to the central reference library in Toronto and the help of several excellent librarians, in various sections of the library, determined that the references were legit and accurate.

The HAB Theory held:

      a. The earth has shifted PHYSICALLY on its axis -
      several times in the geological past.
      Something for which evidence was found by Immanuel Velikovsky,
      Charles Hutchins Hapgood, and others -
      and attributed to various causes.

      b. According to Eckert, what caused the earth to shift was the build-up
      of ice on one pole as compared to the other.

      c. That these conditions are occurring again today.

          A position almost universally rejected today - particularly in light of earth warming theories.

    There Became Two Problems

        One

        All reputable physicists/astrophysicists until most recently -
        (who have written about the theory)
        have discounted it entirely because the weight of the earth
        (particularly regarding its central iron core)
        made a physical polar shift impossible in the earth's orbit around the sun.

      was to just the opposite.

      What We Have Here!

        a. The earth is like a giant teeter totter.
        Take weight off the low-side -
        (in this case the North Pole of our egg)
        which we know is melting so dramatically that
        the North Passage is opening and the polar bears are having a problem.

        b. Add weight to the high-side -
        (in this case the South Pole of our egg)
        by this gigantic snowfall for ten thousand years.

        c. And SUDDENLY the teeter-totter surface of the earth can shift
        and the Earth's poles physically move -
        as the egg shell outer surface of the earth,
        moves around the inner heavy egg yolk core
        on the liquid egg white layer between it and the shell
        (although egg yolks may not actually move that way)
        so that the present north pole is no longer pointing at the North Star.

        Why THIS is Significant NOW!

        In one paradigm -
        there are three things to occur in the End Times.

            One.
            Armageddon - The hundred year - century long - war/conflict, prophecized in the Bible and which began in 1914.

            Two.
            The "Last Great Battle of Armageddon", sometimes called nuclear World War Three.

            Three.
            The GREAT Catastrophe! -The Earthquake of Judgment- that will be symbolic of -The Judgment Day- as prophecized by The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), that shortens the nuclear war so that humanity will survive.

        Most people are of the opinion:

            a. There will never be a nuclear world war.
            Humanity is too smart for that!

            And if there were - it would destroy the world.

            b. To them, this talk about Bible Prophecized Armageddon is but non-sense. Foolish belief in old myths and fairy tales that the world should have grown out of.

            c. To them, "The Great Catastrophe", -The Earthquake of Judgment-, the HAB event, has no more validity than "The Great Pumpkin".

        Still the Bible in the Book of Revelation describes an event that appears to be nuclear war, something unimaginable (until recently) in the intervening centuries since it was written and Isa (Peace be upon Him) said:

          Matthew 24:22
          And except those days should be shortened,
          there should no flesh be saved:
          but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

        The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

        "Such destruction will overtake the earth,
        as has not happened since man was born.

        Moreover, describing the earthquake:

        The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

        "Were God not to do this,
        the world would be confounded."

        So: One, Two, Three, Four

            1. 1914 hundred year - century long - war of Armageddon
            begins before 16 years after 1905 prophecy

            2. Sign of the Moon in the 16 year period before the Final Great Battle of Armageddon (Ending 2016)

            4. The Thousand years of Peace

        If it were not for the Great Catastrophe - the Final Battle would not be shortened, and all flesh would be destroyed. But, the earth SUDDENLY shifting upon its core will disrupt the technology. Satellite positions above the earth will have relocated. Magnetic fields will have different bearings. All technology will be disrupted and the war will not be able to continue. There will be great tsunamis and billions living in the costal cities will perish.

        But, mankind will survive to build anew the world in accordance with God's Plan. This is Divine Intervention, but as with all Divine Intervention it will appear to have natural causes.

        If all this were to occur in the next

                the non-believers will still consider
                the prophecies to be coincidental.

have done an admirable job in warning both their followers and humanity about "The Hour", "The Great Destruction", and the "Earthquake", that will be like "Judgment Day", although it does not appear that many are actually preparing themselves for it.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"A warner came into the world
and the world did not accept him
but God will accept him
and will establish his truth
by powerful attacks."

"Then arise and be warned that the end is near as had been foretold by the previous prophets."

Regarding UNIFYING:

While the Promised Messiah (Peace be Upon) provided a method to Unify humanity there is little indication that most Ahmadis are aware of it - nor that they are making any effort to make humanity as a whole aware of it.


This is a subject worthy of a presentation in itself - but will not be entered into here - because the first task at hand is to awaken humanity to the WARNING. This may be the very reason that each of the Khalifatul Masihas have not emphasized the method of unification, because a world that is not willing to do the first step is certainly not ready to hear about the second.


Nevertheless, it must be obvious that such a plan must exist to accomplish the Primary Mission of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) and it must be one that includes the masses of China, India, and yes, Europe and the whole of the world.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

" But Allah the Almighty has repeatedly told me that He will glorify me greatly and will put my love in the hearts of people and will spread my Community throughout the earth and will make my sect prevail over all other sects. My followers will excel so much in knowledge and insight that they will confound all others with the light of their truth and their reasoning and their Signs. Every people shall drink of this fountain and this Community will spread with great force and will flourish till it encompasses the whole earth. There will be many obstructions and many trials but God will remove all of them and will fulfil His promise"

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"I have been commissioned for the whole population of the earth"

This is the most important part of the Mission of The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him), which is unifying the whole of the world afterwards, and it is to that plan that we need to pay the greatest attention. It is a plan that has already been put in place by the Ahmadis, but which they have not yet adapted to the needs of the world.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"The same will happen here as happened in the case of the people of Nuhas [Noah] that after the death of a large number of people there followed a period of security."

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"The end of your appointed term is approaching and We shall not leave any trace of things that might cause humiliation for you. Only a little is left out of the term appointed for you by your Lord

...The time has come and We shall keep up for you bright Signs forever. Thy time is near and We shall always keep up for you clear Signs as a testimony to your truthfulness. That which you are being promised is near. "

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

" You are a Warner from Me. I have sent you so that the guilty ones might be separated from the righteous."

"Earthquake of the Judgment Day and We shall demolish whatever they build."

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"The extraordinary earthquake is still to come.

... It has been conveyed to me that the earthquake which will be an example of the Judgment Day has not yet come but is still to come."

"This will happen, this will happen, this will happen. Your event will take place afterwards. Your event will take place after all other happenings and natural wonders have been demonstrated."

"I supplicated to be told when would the earthquake occur and received the revelation:
"According to His ancient principle"

"I have been commissioned for the whole population of the earth"



The intended future for the Ahmadis is unimaginably great if they are faithful to their mission to unify Islam and mankind.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said:

"There is no God but He, He knows and sees everything. Allah is with those who fear Him and perform virtuous acts nicely and carry out good deeds beautifully. For them will the gates of heaven be opened and for them there will be glad tidings in this life. You are being reared in the side of the Prophet and [you dwell on the tops of mountains]. I am with you in all circumstances."

Miscellaneous Quotations

The operative point here is that "The Moon of the Prophets" marks the "beginning of the fulfillment" of The Promised Messiah's (Peace be Upon Him) mission/affair. In the "Writings", this is treated of, over, and over, and over. The birth of a son in connection with a particular moon is inconsequential in comparison. "The Moon of the Prophets" is of the greatest relavence to the whole world. The birth of the son is mentioned in connection to current moons - and has personal significance to the Blessed Messiah (Peace be upon Him) and His followers.

Ahmadis make a distinction between "The Moon of the Prophet" and "The Splitting of the Moon". In this essay, the splitting of the moon is the essential "The Moon of the Prophets", although it is recognized that in the Ahmadi Writings "The Moon of the Prophets" is used in other conotations.

"Hadrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad ra was born to the Promised Messiah as on April 20, 1883,(sic) according to the Divine prophecy:

He passed his matriculation with distinction in 1910 and did M.A. (Arabic) in 1916 in compliance with the wish of the Promised Messiah 35 .

The blessings of Allah which accompanied him, the prayers of the Promised Messiah 35 in his favour, the guidance given to him by his elder brother, Hadrat Khalifatul Masih II ra , and his God-given abilities enabled him to serve the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at throughout his life in various capacities.

He was a great religious scholar and a prolific writer.

He was a man of God and the recipient of Divine revelations and visions, but he would not disclose them, except rarely.

He passed away on September 2, 1963 at the age of 71."

Miracle of the Shaqqul-Qamar 2

The Holy Prophet sa was perhaps still in the The Valley of Abu Talib when the renowned miracle of the Shaqqul-Qamar took place. A few among the infidels sought a miracle of the Holy Prophet 53 and he showed them the miracle of the moon breaking into two pieces. The Holy Qur'an makes mention of this occurrence in the following words:

"The Hour has drawn nigh, and the moon is rent asunder. And if they see a Sign, they turn away and say, 'A passing feat of magic and such has been done before.' They denied our messengers and followed their own greed and lust, but for everything is an appointed time. We have given them such news as provides them a warning and means of awareness." 1

Mention of this miracle is found in the following words in Hadith:

Meaning, "The infidels of Makkah sought a sign from the Holy Prophet-, upon which he showed them the moon in two pieces. Thus, they saw one piece of the moon to one side of the Hira mountain, and the other piece to the other side." 2

In another narration related by 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud", the following words are recorded:

Meaning, "We were at Mind with the Holy Prophet- when the moon was rent asunder, upon which the Holy Prophet- said, 'Look and bear witness.' One piece of the moon was towards the top of the mountain and the other towards the bottom." 3

In addition to this, there are many other narrations recorded in Hadith and books of Sirat regarding the Shaqqul-Qamar, in which other details have also been recorded. However, the more authentic narrations are those which have been mentioned above. Moreover, since our purpose is not to take up this issue here in the form of a debate, the mere allusion of the above mentioned narrations will suffice. However, it is necessary to present a brief explanatory note regarding this issue, in order to present the actual truth behind this miracle.

Did the moon in fact split into two pieces or were the eyes of spectators supernaturally overpowered such as the moon appeared to them split in two? Moreover, what was the purpose behind this miracle?

This is the first and most essential question. Did the moon actually physically split? There are many Muslims who take this literally.

Hence, on this subject, it should be known that before the power of God, nothing is impossible. One who believes that this entire universe came into being by the hand of God can not show reluctance in believing, even for a moment, that if God wills, he can annihilate the whole of it by a single command. However, as far as this occurrence is concerned, the established belief is that the moon did not actually split into two pieces; rather, it appeared to spectators as if it had been rent asunder, by the power of God. This is not surprising, because if a trained individual can project a visible object in an unreal state, through mental power i.e., by hypnotism, then before the power of God and the spiritual power of His messenger, it is not impossible that at that time, the eyes of the spectators were overpowered by a supernatural power, and they saw the moon split into two pieces. In any case, to us, the definite reality is that the moon did not actually break into two, but only appeared to spectators as breaking into two pieces. If one ponders closely, the words of Hadith also allude to this actuality, that this was the divine influence of God, which was impressed upon the sight of spectators. Most research scholars have accepted this explanation as true. However, if hypothetically, we accept this miracle in its physical sense, even then there is no room for objection. The powers of God are infinite, and human sights cannot comprehend even its simplest dimensions.

Just recently in 1928, an occurrence took place in South America in the country of Le Plata, where a star was seen splitting into two pieces. The name of this star was the Nova Pictoris, and the largest observatory in southern Africa, situated in Johannesburg, also confirms this occurrence. Scientists assert the possibility that in the past perhaps other heavenly bodies have also broken into two. (Refer to Hindustan Times Delhi dated April 29, 1928) Therefore, it is not surprising if in the era of the Holy Prophet", by the supernatural power of God, a piece of the moon broke off, or if the moon was broken into two pieces and then joined together. No scientist can object to this. However, the truth of the matter is that which has been mentioned above.

The answer given by Him who holds the honorific "Moon of the Prophets", Hadrat Mirza Bashir Ahmad (Peace be upon Him), is "NO."

The apellation "honorific" by no means signifies that the expression may not also have in this instance, and others, deep spiritual significances.

The rest of his discussion, on the subject is as to the reason why, along with alternative explanations, 'Shaqqul-Qamar' should not be taken in the literal sense that some apply to it.

He would be astounded, and probably delighted, to learn the literal explanation that it came to have.

Now the second question remains: what was the purpose of this miracle? In actuality, this is the real and significant question, because only it can reveal the reality and grandeur of this miracle. As such, in this regard, it should be comprehended that according to 'Ilm-e-Ta'bir-e-Ru'ya

1 the moon is symbolic of sovereignty and reign, whether it be just and equitable or cruel and despotic.

2 Numerous examples of this interpretation can be found in history. Thus, we shall see ahead that when Safiyyah", the daughter of a Jewish Cheiftain of Khaibar, Huyaiyy bin Akhtab, saw a dream that the moon had fallen in to her lap, her father also interpreted that one day Safiyyah ra will come into the matrimonial tie of an Arab Ruler. Therefore, it so happened that after the victory of Khaibar, Safiyyah" came into the matrimonial tie of the Holy Prophet sa.

3 Similarly, when Hadrat 'A'ishah- saw in a dream that three moons have fallen into her chamber, the course of events substantiated this dream, by the same interpretation, the actual purport of which was that the Holy Prophet 53 , Hadrat Abu Bakr ra and Hadrat 'Umar- were to be buried there.

4 In this case, the purpose of showing the miracle of the moon being rent asunder to the infidels of Makkah was an insinuation that now their rule was about to end and the rule of Islam would be established in its place. In other words, when the infidels of the Quraish demanded a sign from the Holy Prophet", God the Almighty showed them the moon rent asunder, so as to inform them that you ask for a sign, while the hour of your death draws near.

Therefore, with reference to this miracle, where the Holy Qur'an uses the words, (the Hour draws nigh), the purpose is to hint towards this very actuality. In other words, when the infidels demanded a sign, by showing them the miracle of the Shaqqul-Qamar, they were informed that, with the end of your reign, the rule of Muhammad 53 shall now be established, which shall be evidence of the Holy Prophet 53 being from Allah.

Moreover, since the Quraish understood this indication well, they powerlessly, '0 Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) If this actually happens, considering your current state of weakness, then this shall be great magic indeed.' In short, the true purpose behind the miracle of the Shaqqul- Qamar was to illustrate before the infidels of Makkah that now your rule comes to an end. It is this very elucidation which makes the Shaqqul-Qamar a grand miracle.

Although literally breaking the moon into two pieces without purpose would prove to be a wonder in light of astronomy, it would hold no weight in the spiritual realm. For this reason, past research scholars the like of Imam Ghazali and Shah Waliullah Muhaddith Dehlvi, have also expressed a similar ideology that this was merely a supernatural influence, under which the infidels witnessed the moon breaking into two pieces, but the moon did not actually break into two.

Here, and throughout history, one can see that there have deep philosophical arguments as to the meaning of the verses in Quran regarding the Moon.

Prophetic verses may often seem rationally meaningless, and cause much argument, until the time when they apply. That is when it is important to recognize their meaning - and to NOT continue to hold to the traditional explanations.

The majority of men will fail, initially, to make the leap, although many more will come to see the meaning afterwards. If the prophetic verses are a warning - afterwards may be too late.

There are many examples of this in the religious writings. For example, marriages in heaven and for eternity may not be the same as marriages for time on earth. Those acquainted with the Latter Day Saint Christian theology will certainly be aware of the principle.

(B) No one should be misled that the prophecy just mentioned related to the Promised Reformer. It has been clearly expounded by revelation that all these phrases related to the son who died. The prophecy with regard to the Promised Reformer begins with the words:

Thus, the Promised Reformer has been named Fadl in the revelation. His second name is Mahmud and his third name is Bashir Thani [Bashir the Second]. In one revelation he has been named Fadl-e--Umar. It was inevitable that his coming should have been postponed till the Bashir, who has died, had been born and called back, for all these matters were placed by divine wisdom to take place after his death. The first Bashir was a forerunner of the second and therefore both were mentioned in the same Prophecy.239

Note by Hadrat Maulana Jalal-ud-Din Shamsra: In this Ishtihar [announcement], the Promised Messiahas has regarded Hadrat Amirul- Mo-minin Khalifatul Masih IIaba as the fulfilment of the prophecy about Musleh-e-Ma-ud and also named him Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad by way of good omen. But he promised further information after complete disclosure. This promise was fulfilled in different books as following:

(A) The birth of Mahmud, my elder son, was prophesied clearly in the Sabz Ishtihar together with the name Mahmud.

That announcement was published with reference to the death of the first boy and comprised several pages like a pamphlet.

(B) The fifth prophecy was concerning the birth of my son Mahmud that he would be the next to be born and would be named Mahmud. Then after this prophecy had been publicised fully through the announcements...then by the grace and mercy of Allah, Mahmud was born on Saturday January 12, 1889 CE, Jamadi-ul-Awwal 9, 1306 AH, Sunday.

Note by Hadrat Mirza Bashir Ahmadra: The prophecy of the Promised Messiahas about the Promised Reformer, as the Promised Messiahas had himself considered in the footnote of his Announcement Takmil-e-Tabligh of January 12, 1889, and had also hinted at several other places, was fulfilled in the person of Hadrat Amirul-Mo-minin Khalifatul Masih IIaba, may Allah be pleased with him, as is clearly evidenced by the events. Hadrat Amirul-Mo-minin Khalifatul Masih IIaba has himself applied it to himself.

Note by Hadrat Maulana Jalal-ud-Din Shamsra: On January 28, 1944, in the Friday sermon, Hadrat Amirul-Mo-minin Khalifatul Masih IIaba announced his claim to be the Promised Reformer on the basis of divine intimation. He said:

(A) Allah the Almighty has finally made His will manifest and has granted me the knowledge personally also that the prophecies about the Promised Reformer are about me.

(B) I read all those prophecies together for the first time, and after reading them I can assert with great confidence and certainty that Allah the Almighty has fulfilled the prophecy in me.

This is a continuation of the previous section - and the issue of to whom the title "Moon of the Prophets" applies, is resolved by the last four paragraphs in this section that these prophecies are about the "Promised Reformer".

It is interesting to note the order of events here. First there is a prophecy. Secondly there is statement "that prophecy is associated with some particular regularly recurring monthly moon," and therefore the title is associated with that person.

It is not about some unique external event even such as a blood moon, or the moon in some particular pattern with the stars - and CERTAINLY NOT about a unique event - such as the splitting of the moon in a manner that has now been documented, but which was never previously documented in all of history.

While these previous "moons of the prophets" were not distinctly observable, and no matter how great their spiritual significance, they did not have the quantifiable - documentable - uniqness and observable occurence that occurred at the prophecized time of destiny for the "moon of the prophets' known as the splitting of the moon.

The command of Allah is approaching, so do not be of those who are in a hurry. The moon of the Prophets will come to you and your affair will become manifest. It is incumbent upon Us to help the believers.

but STILL mentions that "The Moon of the Prophets" will come.

The correct interpretation and the true and correct meaning [of the hadith] is that -the moon would be eclipsed on the first night in the month of Ramadan- means that it will be eclipsed on the first of the three nights in which it is full, as you well-know the expression ayyam-e-bid [white days]-.

Also, the meaning of his words that -the sun would be eclipsed on the middle [day]- is that the solar eclipse would occur in a manner that it would split in the middle the days on which an eclipse takes place. -I have not said this on my own; rather, it is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.

      (from p 87) "Similarly, in these revelations the names Musa [Moses], -Isa [Jesus], and Dawud [David] have been mentioned, but these names do not refer to those Prophets. Rather, my humble self is indicated in all these instances. Since Mary here does not connote a feminine but a masculine,..."

The Promised Messiah had four children born after 1896, not all of whom were sons, but being unfamiliar with the names I cannot say which was which.

That is [Arabic] Then the supplications of people will be heard, there will be seasonable rains, abundant yields of fruits and harvests, a time of joy, and freedom from extraordinary afflictions.

Whoever one may see this, as being specifically directed towards, the earth does seem to becoming for many more and more of a hell. Even for those who do not feel that they experience it as such, because there is increasing immorality, materiality, depravity of all sorts - and yes, plagues such as AIDS, Ebola, and others - while the immensity, and intensity of earthquakes is increasing.

The same cure appears to be again in the ofting, as was with Nuhas. A world-wide catastrophe.

I am, therefore, apprehensive which other type of attack besides plague and earthquake God Almighty will mount as proof of my truth.

While this particular vision was about a particular earthquake, much of what it has to say applies to the -earthquake of Judgment- that will be an example of the Judgment Day.

When people ask why God would permit such destruction, the answer is:

Can any look about them today and think that the human population of the earth today is not worthy of judgment?

(Translation and explanation) This means that [Urdu] God will show a fresh Sign. It will be a shock for the people.

That will be the earthquake like the Judgment Day.

I have not been told whether by earthquake in the revelation is meant a severe earthquake or some other calamity which shall overtake the world and which could be described as the Judgment Day. Nor have I been told when this calamity would happen, whether in a few days, or a few weeks. Or whether Allah the Almighty will manifest it after a few months, or a few years. In any case, whether it is an earthquake or something else, and whether it occurs soon or later, it would be more terrible than the ones before. It would be very terrible in its intensity. Were I not forced to disclose all this out of my deep sympathy for my fellow beings I would not have mentioned it.-

Hearken! I have warned you. The earth listens as does the heavens that whoever, departing from righteousness, is inclined towards mischief and pollutes the earth with his viciousness will be seized.

God Almighty warns that His wrath is about to descend upon the earth, for the earth is filled with sin and vice.

Then arise and be warned that the end is near as had been foretold by the previous prophets. I call Him to witness Who has sent me that all this is from Him and not from me. Would that my warnings were viewed in good faith. Would that I were not treated as a liar, so that the world would escape ruin. -Otherwise, the day is approaching which will turn men mad. The unfortunate fool will say: These are all lies. Alas! why is he in such deep sleep when the sun is about to rise?

 The term "earthquake" like many other terms we are dealing with, such as "moon of the Prophets", "The Day", "Judgment Day", may have more than one meaning.

As the Blessed Messiahas Himself (Peace be upon Him) states:

      "I have not been told whether by earthquake in the revelation is meant a severe earthquake or some other calamity which shall overtake the world and which could be described as the Judgment Day."

Earthquakes are often equated with a symbolism for war, and most certainly, from almost that time forward, well at least less than sixteen years after (in 1914 - the beginning of WW1), the world has experienced what in many historians' minds is on long war - which some refer to as Armageddon.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) says:

God Almighty warns that His wrath is about to descend upon the earth, for the earth is filled with sin and vice.

God Almighty has again informed me on April 9, of a severe earthquake which will be frightful and will be an example of the Judgment Day. Since I have been warned about this forthcoming event twice by the All-Knowing One, I am certain that this terrible occurrence which will be a reminder of the Judgment Day is not very distant865.

Many events that produced similarities to the Judgment Day - occurred immediately during the last century of the millennium.

It is interesting to note, and this prophecy may later be thought to be more noteworthy, in that we are in the 16th year of the new millennium.

The respite from the time of the prophecy to the beginning of the new millenium was less than sixteen years and the respite from the "splitting of the moon" to the The Great Earthquake may also possibly be less than sixteen years. Everything does seem quite imminent.

God, the Majestic and Glorious, has also told me that both these earthquakes are Signs in support of my truth like the Signs which Musaas [Moses] demonstrated before Pharaoh and the Sign which Nuhas [Noah] showed to his people.

Seeing that worldly government disapproves of and deals severely with disobedience, then you can imagine, how terrible God's anger will be. Repent, therefore, for the days are near.

This shows that there will not be one, but several, earthquakes, which will repeatedly demolish the structures.867

867 This sentence has literal, as well spiritual significance. It also means that Allah the Almighty would continuously destroy the structures of the plans put up by the ill-wishers.

Can we not imagine that God Almighty says:

Suddenly an earthquake will severely shake them all"be they humans, trees, rocks, or oceans.

In the twinkling of an eye the earth will be turned upside down and streams of blood will flow like channel tides.

Those whose night garments were white as jasmine will wake up in the morning as if clad in red like the poplar tree.

That hour will bear heavily upon every traveller and those on a journey will lose their way in agony.

The waters of mountain streams will run red like red wine with the blood of the dead"

Hasten not to repudiate this, thou stupid fool, for my truthfulness depends entirely on the fulfillment of this Sign.

This is a prophecy based on Divine revelation and will surely be fulfilled; wait then awhile in righteousness and steadfastness.

Divine revelation has repeatedly employed the word earthquake in this context and has indicated that the earthquake will be an example of the Judgment Day.

Indeed, it should be termed as 'earthquake of Judgment' which is described in the ... (Opening verse of surah al-Zilzal, Chapter 99 of the Holy Qur'an.) (See adjacent)

The earth being turned upside down is not just a poetic description, but is the description of a HAB event.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

1. When the Earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion,

2. And the Earth throws up her burden (from within),

3. And man cries (distressed): 'What is the matter with her?' --

5. For that thy Lord will have given her inspiration.

6. On that Day will men proceed in companies sorted out, to be shown the Deeds that they (had done).

7. Then shall anyone who has done an atom's weight of good, see it!

8. And anyone who has done an atom's weight of evil, shall see it.

But I am not able to apply the world earthquake with certainty upon its actual manifestation. It is possible that it may not be a common earthquake but some other dire calamity, 875 which would be an example of the Judgment Day, the like of which has not been witnessed before, and which would bring about great destruction of life and property. If no such extraordinary Sign appears, while people have not openly reformed their way of life, I shall in such case have been proved false.

This whole concept of a world earthquake has bothered Ahmadis for a long time because it did not seem possible, and in fact, until quite recently most of the scientific community held it to be impossible.

Both it, and the time of trouble which it follows, are such that they have not been witnessed before. Nevertheless, such an extraordinary sign is quite capable of appearing now, while people have not openly reformed their way of life. This shall be the MOST DEFINITIVE proof that the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) was not false.

The high palaces and the lofty castles,

When exactly all this will happen, only God knows; But He did reveal to me that it would be in the days of spring.

 The issue is always the timing, but the respite of sixteen years between the giving of the Prophecy in 1905 and the beginning of Armageddon in 1914, was one fulfillment, as well may be the respite from the "Moon of the Prophets"/"The splitting of the moon", to the "Great Earthquake" that is symbolic of "The Day of Judgment".





"I see the earth turned upside down by the earthquake" - not just idle poetic imaginery.





The earth being turned upside down has many implications. When it is Spring in one Hemisphere, it is Fall in the other. The flip changes climates and seasons.

The term may also have spiritual implications for just as the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) said on p. 654:

    We certainly believe in the prophesied rising of sun from the West, but what has been conveyed to me in a dream is that the rising of the sun from West means that the Western countries which have been steeped in darkness and infidelity for a long time will be illumined with the sun of truthfulness and they will partake of Islam.

While we may see that the prophecies have spiritual meanings - we shouldn't be too quick to discount the literal meanings. The flipping of the earth may have unexpected results. It could cause the sun to rise in the west - at least momentarily.

Both the spiritual and possible literal meanings of prophecy may have their importance in their own way, and it may not be possible to say which is the more important.

 The Earthquake of Judgment will be the TERMINATING event. It will come after all the natural earthquakes leading up to it. It is an event like none others.

Today, April 29, 1905, God Almighty has warned me a second time about a severe earthquake and out of my sympathy for mankind I wish to announce that it has been determined in heaven that a ruinous calamity, which God has repeatedly described as an earthquake, will overtake the world.881 I do not know whether it is near or it will appear after some days.... The repeated warnings indicate that it cannot be very far. It is a revelation from God Almighty who knows everything hidden-.

God Almighty says: I shall come in secret. I shall come with My hosts at a time when no one would expect that this is likely to occur. It will probably be in the morning or when some part of the night remains or a time thereabouts-.

 The earthquake being spoken here is a World-wide earthquake. One that "will overtake the world".

The Blessed Messiam (Peace be upon Him) did "not know whether it is near or it will appear after some days.... The repeated warnings indicate that it cannot be very far.

He thought here and other times that it might be near, in His lifetime, and so forth, but later prophecies told Him it would be delayed to be what we call the culminating event at the end of the age, marking the true beginning of His Mission.

When there is a world-wide simultaneous event, then for a part of the world it will happen in the middle of the day - and for a part of the world it will happen in the midd0e of the night - and likewise for all other times throughout the world.

Although the word used is earthquake, it is quite possible that it might be some other calamity which possesses the quality of an earthquake. It will be a severe calamity-more ruinous than that which has occurred before-which will affect buildings also-. As God Almighty has informed me that such an earthquake will happen in my lifetime and will constitute a clear victory for me and a large number of people will join my Jama-at and it will be a heavenly Sign in my support. God will Himself descend in my support and will demonstrate such wondrous works as the world has not seen before. People will come from long distances to join my Jama-at. That earthquake will be greater than the previous one and God will manifest signs of the Judgment Day in it and it will bring about a revolution in the world. God says He would come when hearts are hardened and people feel secure against an earthquake.

He says that He will come secretly at a time when people would be completely unaware, that is, will be busy diligently with their affairs.

Then suddenly the calamity will descend when the people will imagine that they are secure against any such calamity. But God has said that it will be the time of spring. The sun will appear in the morning of spring and will set in the evening of autumn.** Then there will be mourning in many houses, for they failed to recognize the signs of the time.-

Certainly none today expect it today, tomorrow or at anytime. One can't find among the general population anyone who has even heard about a HAB event, and if it is explained to them - their skepticism - nay more than skepticism, their scorn, is tangible.

God also informed me so that those who do not recognize God Almighty nor me might be warned. I say out of pure sympathy, that it would be better if they would shun large two-storeyed or three-storeyed houses, for the danger thereof is obvious. But the choice is theirs.

As the first earthquake was in the spring, God has informed me that the second one will also be in the spring. As some trees begin to put forth their leaves at the end of January, the feared period would begin then and would last probably until the end of May.

The Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) foretold many earthquakes. This is part of the confusion. Separating from when the prophecies are about "immediate earthquakes" and that Earthquake that is like no other - that marks the end of the old age - and the beginning of the fulfilment of His Mission.

When I picked it up, I found that it was a nose-pin which is an ornament that women wear at their noses. It was wrapped in a piece of paper. It passed through my mind that it belonged to my wife and had been lost sometime back. It was now found from a height, and that this was the Sign of the earthquake.

I felt I was sitting in a sedanchair. Then someone put Miyan Sharif Ahmad in my place and began to rotate the chair. The watch fell out, at a place that seemed nearby. I said: Search for it, lest Muhammad Husain should file a suit for its recovery.

The Promised Messiah[as] said:

I conceive that by the watch might be meant the hour of the earthquake, which is not known. [Allah knows best]. It also means that that hour would prove the hour of divine mercy for us.

917 Note by Maulana Abdul Latif Bahawalpuri: After the revelation, the Promised Messiahas received the following revelation on March 9, 1906: [see entry for March 9, 1906]

Apparently, the two revelations seem to contradict each other, but there is no contradiction. The first revelation refers to a manifestation in a vision, and the second revelation refers to the postponement of the prophecy about [Earthquake of an example of the Day of Judgment].

The Promised Messiahas says in this respect:

-Today [March 27, 1906] I supplicated about the time of the earthquake. In that condition I envisioned the earthquake and then I received the revelation: [Revelation of March 27, 1906].- In the humble opinion of the publisher, this revealed supplication corresponds with the other revelation, namely . God Almighty accepted this supplication as indicated in the revelation of March 28, 1906:

The first revealed supplication was fulfilled as following: When he received the revelation on April 8-9 1906, Allah the Almighty showed him, in a vision, the view of an earthquake which was accompanied by the revelation: [revelation of June 11, 1906]. The awe-striking nature of this revelation needs no explanation.

Then we come back to:

"the earthquake of the hour of Judgment."

As to the timing of the event, one must take great care to pay attention to exact words. There are oftentimes prophecies that -The Earthquake- will occur after some event. Mistakenly, some thought this meant in connection with such an event. No matter, from this point on, whenever -The Earthquake- occurs, it will still be after the designated event, so the prophecy has not been invalidated. This may seem somewhat like the riddle of the Sphinx, but it simply reflects the human propensity (particularly applying to myself) to improperly wish to know the future.

The Blessed Messiah, Himself (Peace be upon Him) often stated that He didn-t know the meaning of a prophecy - and humanly, He (May Allah be pleased with His efforts) speculated as to its meaning, conceding that His speculations might be erroneous.

You will die in a state that I shall be pleased with you. The time has come and We shall keep up for you bright Signs forever. Thy time is near and We shall always keep up for you clear Signs as a testimony to your truthfulness. That which you are being promised is near. Proclaim the bounty of your Lord upon you. Indeed whoever is righteous and steadfast, Allah wastes not the reward of such doers of good.

On May 25, 1906, the Promised Messiah (May Allah reward Him for His patience with humanity), began His summary teaching about -The Earthquake" - but between this date and that He reiterated and reiterated detail about its nature, that it was a world-world event.

Bear in mind that according to the style of the Holy Qur-an, this means that if my opponents do not repent, some of the chastisement for their impertinence and harshness towards me will befall them during my lifetime, for they are not following the way of righteousness.

It was not to come during the lifetime of the Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him). The Final Warner.

God says He would come secretly like thieves, that is to say, no astrologer or claimant of revelation or dreamer of dreams will be given any intimation of His coming except that much which He has revealed to His Promised Messiah or that which He might add to it later. After these Signs, a change will occur in the world, and the hearts of many will be drawn to God. Many noble souls will move away from the love of the world. The intervening obstructions of heedlessness will be removed and they would be given to drink of the fountain of true Islam.

Like a thief in the night. Humanity won't be expecting it. At the moment it doesn't even think it possible.

But the event will change humanity. That is it purpose.

[Persian] When the reign of the Messiah, the monarch begins, the Muslims who were Muslims in name only will be reconverted to Islam. 1007

In this revelation, by the reign of the just monarch is meant the period of the call of this humble one. No worldly kingdom is indicated here, but the kingdom of heaven that has been bestowed upon me. In summary, the meaning of this revelation is that when the kingdom of heaven, which in the estimation of Allah is the period of the Promised Messiah, began towards the end of the sixth millennium, as had been prophesied by previous Prophets, the effect of it was that those who were only Muslims in name began to be Muslims in fact, as has already happened in the case of about 400,000 of them.

It is AFTER the event - that the fulfillment of the Mission of Promised Messiah (Peace be upon Him) begins.

Not just the Muslims, but also the Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, and those who are presently non-believers - all will be converted to Islam, True Christianity, True Judaism, the One True Religion of God, because there is none other, just as there is none other god but God.

It is not however, something that will come about without effort. The true mission of the Blessed Messiah begins then to teach humanity.

Jesus son of Mary has been so glorified that four hundred million people worship him and monarchs bow down to him. And although I have supplicated that I should not become a cause for spreading polytheism like Jesus son of Mary and I am sure that God Almighty will so ordain.

But Allah the Almighty has repeatedly told me that He will glorify me greatly and will put my love in the hearts of people and will spread my Community throughout the earth and will make my sect prevail over all other sects. My followers will excel so much in knowledge and insight that they will confound all others with the light of their truth and their reasoning and their Signs. Every people shall drink of this fountain and this Community will spread with great force and will flourish till it encompasses the whole earth. There will be many obstructions and many trials but God will remove all of them and will fulfil His promise-

Then, O ye who hear, remember all this and make secure these prophecies in your boxes, for this is the Word of God which shall one day be fulfilled.

 It will be fulfilled. But it will have to be worked for through many obstructions and many trials .

Is it true? Yes, it is true. But, most continue to doubt as evidenced by the fact that they do not prepare.

That is, they will find no refuge, and even if they are standing at the door of their house, they will be unable to leave the house, except through good deeds. A mill will rotate and the decree will come down.

Those who disbelieve from among the people of the Book and the idolaters would not have desisted except for this great Sign.

[Arabic] I shall show you the earthquake of the Judgment Day. Allah will show you the earthquake of the Judgment Day. On that day, it will be asked: Whose is the kingdom this Day? Is it not of Allah the Supreme.

This is not an ordinary drought but an event that turns the whole earth yellow.

But strangely, many still say - "Oh, that isn't really an earthquake being talked about - it is a prophecy about war or something else."

And others say: "It was about an earthquake in the past."

And still others say: "We don't really know what it means."

They say: "Certainly, it doesn't literally mean that the world will be turned upside down."

And that thing about smoke, "Anything, could cause smoke. Volcanoes. You name it. Forget fallout." Nothing of particular significance. Or, that we might understand anyway.

[Arabic] Lord, postpone the time of the major earthquake. Allah will postpone the earthquake that will be an example of the Judgment Day till an appointed time.1076 Then you will see wonderful help and your opponents will fall down upon their chins supplicating: -Lord forgive us and pardon our sins, we were in error-.

The earth will say: -O Prophet of Allah, I did not recognise you-. O defaulters, no blame shall lie upon you this day; may Allah forgive you and He is the most Merciful of those who show mercy. Be kind to people and have mercy on them. You are in the position of Musa [Moses] in My estimation.

A time will come upon you like the time of Musa.

We have sent a Messenger to you similar to the Messenger that We sent to Pharaoh.

[Urdu] Much milk-that is the milk of insights and verities-has descended from Heaven, [guard it].

[Arabic] I have illumined you and chosen you.

[Urdu] Provision has been made for your happy life.

[Arabic] Allah is better than everything. With Me is a good which is better than a mountain.

[Urdu] Many salutations of peace upon you from Me.

[Arabic] We have bestowed upon you in abundance. Allah is with those who follow the guidance and those who are truthful. Allah is with those who are righteous and those who do good deeds. Allah intends to raise you to a praiseworthy station.

 Here we go with that "Moon of the Prophets" thing again. And this is after all the children have been born - so what is this about?

What "Moon of the Prophets" of the past are we expecting? "The Splitting of the Moon." Really? "How is that possible?" Hasn't ever happened - and isn't about to, say those who won't step aside.

And there you go again - with the earth turned upside down. Will you not get off that one already? (No, for myself - I have proof from Allah.) What could a warner say?

Tell them: I have with me proof from Allah, then will you believe or not.

The moon of the Prophets will come and your affair will be completed. Step aside today, O ye guilty ones.

I shall safeguard from the earthquake all those who are in this house. There is an ark and comfort.

Such destruction will overtake the earth as has not happened since man was born. Many places will be turned upside down as if they had never been inhabited. There will also be other afflictions of a terrible type in the earth and the heavens, so much so that every person with understanding will view them as most extraordinary and no mention or trace of them will be found in the books of astronomy or of philosophy. Then people's minds would be filled with anxiety over what might be apprehended. Many will be delivered but many will be destroyed. The days are near, indeed they are at the door, when the world will witness scenes of the Judgment Day and not only earthquakes but awe-striking calamities will appear, some from heaven and some from the earth. This will happen because the human beings have given up the worship of God and have succumbed with all their thoughts and their designs and their resolves towards the world. Had I not appeared these calamities might have been delayed for a while, but with my coming the secret designs of God's wrath, which had long been hidden, have been manifested-. Do not imagine that while America etc. has been severely shaken, your country is secure. What I see is that you might experience greater misfortunes. O Europe, you are not secure; and O Asia, you are not protected. O ye that dwell in the islands, no artificial god will help you. I see cities falling and find the habitations in ruin.
